Ancient Roman Banquet Dinner
Sat, 08 Jun 2019, 7pm
Chef Todd Gray drew inspiration for this dinner from the recipes of Marcus Gavius Apicius, who was a notorious Roman gourmand from AD 14 to 37. He was famous for sailing around the Mediterranean looking for the biggest prawns he could find. During the dinner, there will be a discussion led by Curator of Antiquities Susan Masten about the elaborate dining practices of the Romans and of the infamous Herod the Great. Come hungry and tastefully experience the lavish lifestyle of Herod and its impact on Jewish society in the first century AD. General admission ticket includes $45 3-course dinner and presentation by Chef Todd Gray and Susan Masten.
